A review of the value of personality assessment measures in clinical practice with an emphasis on the latest revisions of two of the most commonly administered instruments, the MMPI-3 and the MCMI-IV. Participants will learn how these measures were developed, the type of information provided by the scales, and how to interpret and apply the results to provide therapeutic value to their clients.

 

Objectives:

  • Participants will better understand the role of personality assessment in clinical practice.
  • Participants will be able to describe the scales of the MMPI-3 and the constructs they assess.
  • Participants will be able to describe the MMPI-3 framework to guide interpretation
  • Participants will be able to describe the scales of the MCMI-IV and the constructs they assess.
  • Participants will be able to utilize an MCMI-IV interpretive report to better understand their clients’ dynamics and conceptualize therapeutic applications
